2016 comes with changes, I am excited to introduce a Decor Inspiration Series for the Busy Woman. I hope you enjoy these tips and tricks on how to make the space you live in your own. As every busy woman knows coming home to a place that inspires and rejuvenates you is very important.
Do you love to redecorate your house as much as I do? This is one of the most relaxing tasks I can do, even if it is just changing the covers for a few of my cushions. I love the feeling of making something old feel new and fresh. I am always busy with a project around the house. One of the projects I am working on at the moment is redecorating the boys room. It is still quite bare, with just the bed and the boys’ clutter to liven things up.
Just before we moved into the house, in July last year, we went looking for a bunk bed as we realised that having a maximum amount of sleeping spaces was really important especially because we are always having family over, We found a really cool bunk bed at Cielo Lifestyle that fitted our needs.

What we love about the bed was that it had extra storage space in the form of drawers on the staircase and under the bottom bed. It also fits in with the base colour scheme of the room which is White, with a hint of blue and read (These are the colours TheHeir wants, and TheSpare doesn’t care – he just wants to climb on the bed and jumps off).
To get my mind around what I want to do and kick off the project, I started by creating a mood board for the room with the help of TheHeir ideas about what he would like in the room. The mood board has a colour palate and ideas about the general look and feel of the space. It is a nice way of seeing a theme in the decor but also an easy way to remind myself of what look we are going for when I am out and about and I spot a piece that I like. It also helps to keep me inspired as the project is taking way to long.
My Color Chart
These are the colours that we settled n 2 shades of blue with white, the bottom 3 are accent colours just to add spice to the look. I cannot wait to see how it will come together.

When we decorated the Nursery the theme was Nautical. So lots of Red white and Blue. As the cot moved out and the beds moved in and they obviously got older I took out all the nautical and just kept the colours (red and blue with the furniture white) – going really dark blue on one the feature wall.
February 5, 2016 at 6:02 pmI’m now wanting to make the next move and add a third colour (a happy BRIGHT Citrus Yellow) but I get cold feet every time I’m about to start the project so its just been standing.
This is great. I have two sons, and this would be a great way to make their room look more at home and boyish. Right now it is just a regular plain old room!

I love when is the time to redecorate any room of the house. I’m the same than you, I get bored very quickly of things. I like doing some changes now and then. My mum is a decorator and I remember since I was little how often she used to keep changing our rooms. I love that about my mum. Your ideas look great and your Pinterest Board is fab. You can do something amazing. I would love to see the final look of your boy’s room. I like the bunk bed too. Thanks so much for sharing this at #KCACOLS, 🙂 x
