Cultivating Beautiful Skin Habits
I love being educated about my skin. That is what exactly what happened a week or so ago, I attended a beautiful luncheon hosted by the PONDS at Emoyeni in Johannesburg. The theme of the day was Beautiful Habits (#beautifulhabits).
It was a lovely event with beautiful people talking about how to take care of one of our most important commodities, and how to start and maintain good habits in every area of our lives. It was a beautiful sunny winter days, with amazing views across Johannesburg.

Starting beautiful habits for your skin
We had the pleasure of listening to dermatologist Dr. Pholile Mpofu, talk about the long term effect of sun damage to our skins, irrespective of the colour of our skins. I was fascinated and appalled to find out that the latest research proves that sun damage to your skin continues for 3 to 10 hours after you have stopped being in direct sunlight. This means that the use of Sunscreen, and other forms of sun protection is critical to minimising the damage to the skin. Dr Mpofu, gave some advice around how to protect and repair the skin, Always s use products that contain anti-oxidants in order to mop up the damage that has already occurred due to sun exposure. Use products with a minimum of SPF 30 at all time even if not exposed to direct sunlight
Points to remember
- Use sunscreen that has a pigment to it
- Use a non-oily moisturiser, that creates a matt finish
- Get into the right habits to protect your skin against delayed sun exposure
THE PONDS SOLUTION TO DELAYING SUN DAMAGE
The PONDS team then discussed how the POND’S flawless radianceÔ Visible Even Tone Day Cream, has the right ingredients to combat and repair the effects of Delayed Sun Damage.
POND’S flawless radiance Visible Even Tone Day Cream uses a combination of 7 Derma Actives – including skin moisturisers, antioxidant agents, and skin vitamins to prevent and repair dark marks and patches, uneven skin tone and roughness caused by Delayed Sun Damage. – THE PONDS TEAM
It was lovely to listen too, and see the experience through the eyes of beauty and fashion blogger Thithi Nteta, who with a few other women from across the globe had the opportunity to become a PONDS Insiders, travelling to New York City to the The POND’S Institute labs to take a look at the rigorous process of research and product development applied to all ponds products.
The day was a great reminder to develop the right habits for beautiful radiant skin. What beautiful skin habits have you developed over the years?? Is PONDS part of your skincare routine? Share with me down the in the comments?
