Hello September, Summer days are close by. I am so excited about spring starting, and the possibility of outside living once the weather gets warm. How have you all been keeping?
Spring is life giving
The image below which I posted on the Instagram page, is a true representation of SPRING for me. I absolutely adore how it represents a new start, the blooming of flowers, and trees regenerating after the winter.
It feels like a time of renewal for me too, as so many things are changing and evolving. Very exciting times indeed.
It has been a while since I’ve done a life update purely because I have been so busy, so I thought new beginnings this is a good time as any. I hope you are all well and as excited about spring as I am . For my friends in the Northern Hemisphere, I’m sorry but it’s our turn now, this winter has been brutal.
Life and Photography
As some of you know one of my favourite hobbies, is photography. Recently an amazing young man and dear friend Nkosi_T who owns Carl Photography , agreed to help me with putting together a portfolio of lifestyle images that I can use for my brand.
He managed to capture so much of my personality in the images, I absolutely love them. The images on this post are ones that he shot for me.
To see more of his work check out the Carl Photography page.
Latest on the Offsprings
The Offsprings are growing I can’t believe how fast, TheHeir turned 9 in August and in a few months time TheSpare will be 3 years old. They had a fabulous time in the last month, since TheHeir was on school holidays, so they literary ran around house screaming, playing for a whole month. I love how they enjoy each other’s company so much . Even though sometimes TheSpare does Terrorise his older brother.

Wow, my big boy. I don’t know if I ever mentioned this, but I was so worried when I was pregnant with TheSpare how that would impact the bond that I had with TheSpare.
I must admit for the first year or so, we really struggled as he felt displaced, but now we are back on track again, and it is wonderful to see the lovely, compassionate, intelligent young man, he is becoming.
As I have written before he has had some challenges with his ADHD, and that has really been tough on him, but he has a great support system in place, and we are there for him, so that he can live up to his amazing potential and flourish.
As some of you may know, my youngest has a condition called congenital facial paralysis, that he was born with. We have not been able to establish what caused it but the suspicion is that it was birth trauma from the time he was born, as it was a very hard, traumatic birth for both of us, especially more for him.
The condition means that he cannot naturally and quickly blink his eye on the left side of his face. The nerve damage also impacts his ability to control muscles on the left side of his face, and he has the most adorable crooked full teeth smile because of it. He is an amazing feisty, strong human being who will take over the world one day.
Coming Soon, A resource page to help other parents
Over the next couple of months, I will be starting a page about the congenital facial paralysis particularly in newborns on the blog and I will posting more about the condition, treatment options I have found through my search and where other people can find information.
I hope this can help another parent as it was very difficult for us to find sufficient information here in south Africa. We continue to learn about treatment options and medical procedures.
So on the home front we are okay, just dealing with the normal everyday issues of leaving in this fast paced lifestyle and trying to do it all
Our Adult Vacation
In August, the hubby and I got to go on an amazing 2 and half week vacation to the United States of America. We had been planning this trip for the last 2 years. We spent time with some amazing friends, got to do some proper touristy stuff and learned a lot about American history. If you can’t wait, take a look at my Instagram feed for some pics’
The only downside was that we couldn’t take the kids with and missed them terribly, which made us so homesick.
I will be sharing posts about the trip on the blog, in the meantime take a look at these Instagram memories.
Life is measured by the quality of friends you have. Thank you friends for an amazing 🇺🇸 #usatravel trip. We are blessed and honored to have all of you in our lives. You have made the international brotherhood come alive for us. We love you and are inspired by you #internationalbrotherhood #jw #thebestlifeever #travel #jwinternational #jwinsta #jwfamily
