This is the year of celebrating what is beautiful, fascinating, heart-warming, tingle-worthy and interesting, so I will be introducing monthly feature showcasing something that I found beautiful and interesting. At the same time I am trying to see what things other people find beautiful and hope you will share those with me as well.
For the first feature, I would like to share with you a picture I took on the road from Cape town to Johannesburg in December 2014. Some background: This is a long trip, it is a 1400 km and it took us 13 hours to get home. I was worried about how boring, hot and irritating this could be, especially because of my short attention space, as well as the fact that we were travelling with a an active 1 year old child, who would eventually be just as bored and tired The good news is that we made it without incident, partly because the child slept but also because the scenery was amazing, That trip through the Western Cape, Free State and Gauteng was an excellent showcase of the varied beauty of our country, the weather was warm and the skies clear. You can’t ask for more than beautiful travel weather and safe arrival.
Enjoy this view and may it awaken your need to travel the world, or even just the country …
